As an extension of the site dada-data.net, the interactive installation La Garde allows users to experience Dadaism. The user put his/her smartphone in a cardboard box and connects it to a program. The box becomes a digital puppet handled by the user who can pull its strings thanks to augmented reality. The more data on the user the algorithm finds, the more strings to the puppet it creates; each string being linked to the giants of the web GAFA (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple).
The artwork is a battle against people’s dependence on big businesses. La Garde allows users to open their eyes to the traces of digital data on the Internet and those who pull the strings in our society.
