2199 is an experimental virtual reality installation. The project offers a game to its users, where three people are sitting on motorized rotating chairs wearing a VR headset and following endless instructions given by a voiceover. When looking in certain directions, the plates rotate in reaction. While playing together, users can see each other. At the end of the experience, users are conducted in a choreography, where head movements are synchronized, making the plate rotate in different ways, which creates a confusion for the players.

VR isolates from the external world to immerse the players into a virtual world. 2199 questions the position of the users to explore as to how willing they are to adapt and trust the technology.
